Intended Use: These Initiators are components of the Emergency Egress Hatch Removal Systems installed in the MV-22, CV-22 and HV-22 variant aircraft. They are the mechanical firing mechanisms used to initiate the explosive severance component of the system from outside the aircraft by emergency ground personnel. As the V-22 Aircraft is designed for the military there is no civilian application for the JAU-72A/A Initiator.
