Thus, NGN monitoring and measurement parameters standardization should be provided. This Recommendation defines the protocols for measuring and monitoring PSTN/ISDN emulation service (PES) and IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) solutions, including real-time transfer protocol/real-time transfer control protocol (RTP/RTCP), session initiation protocol (SIP), H.248/media gateway control protocol (H.248/MEGACO), signalling transport (SIGTRAN) and bearer independent call control (BICC). How to monitor and measure these parameters is out of the scope of this Recommendation.
